« At 10 hours 41 minutes and 6 seconds, the final impact interrupts the recording. It all came to a halt against a four-metre by three-metre zone. There was this moment when the speed of the aircraft dropped to zero, and the speed of the bodies remained at 700 kilometers per hour, as any object became a real missile. Tens of tons of human beings, armchairs, frames, slicks, floors, spars, luggage, trolleys, alloys and tubing were nothing more than their sheer inertia. Each body takes a deceleration of more than 200 g. Between the impact of the nose and that of the drift, there is a tenth of a second. Time for a wink. In a flash. A cry suspended between life and death. It's a monumental, indescribable implosion. An instant fusion, total, of everything, which delivers in a gigantic sound of grinding a flash of heat and a huge breath, fire, dust and debris. Then it all falls back. Everything's silent. »
